
basal cell carcinoma
It is the small nodular ulcerated (rodent ulcer) lesion over the face or neck mostly over the sun expose part of the body. It rarely develops on dorsum of hand.
Nodular ulcerated lesion.
Itching.
Pigmentation.
Mostly over the dorsum of hand or sun exposed area.
It needs to be excised with some part of surrounding normal skin and send for biopsy (laboratory checkup) to see if the abnormal lesion is completely removed and no part of it remains within the skin.
Involve any vital structure and cause its malfunction (locally invasive)
Outcomes are better if is it is excised with safe borders (abnormal tissue is removed with some part of adjacent normal tissue from all 4 sides and depth as well).
Few minutes to hours, but it depends on type of deformity.
Day care set up, usually patient admits for few hours to one day.
