CHEEK REDUCTION 

Cheek reduction is the procedure to remove excess fat from cheeks to give them better contour and more youthful appearance. Removing excess fat from one’s cheek restores the inverted cone of appearance of a young face. Cheek reduction can be performed by 

  • Excision of buccal fat pad
  • Liposuction 

INDICATION

  • Aesthetic concerns for better cheek appearance
  • Excess fat deposition in cheek 

ANESTHESIA  

      Can be performed in both under local anesthesia or general anesthesia 

HOSPITAL STAY 

     Usually as a day care procedure.

COMPLICATIONS 

  • Bleeding 
  • Wound infection 
  • Fluid collection 
  • Numbness
  • Overcorrection /under correction

1. What postoperative instruction I have to follow?

Your surgeon will advise you to keep oral hygiene and liquid diet for a few days if buccal fat is excised by intraoral incision. Compression bandage will be required  if liposuction is performed.
